Amridil, El Correo 1.3

El Correo is a series that compiles the informal and playful exchange of letters between the editors of Hidden Architecture, defining a contingent editorial line. El Correo es una serie que recopila el intercambio epistolar, informal y lúdico, entre los editores de Hidden Architecture, definiendo una línea editorial contingente. Between the High Atlas and Anti-Atlas mountain ranges lies the dry and windswept Dades River valley, whose physical and environmental structure is shaped by the green expanses of palm groves that grow along the riverbeds. At the confluence of several of these, now completely dry on 28 April 2025, stands the town of Skoura. This extensive settlement, now relatively unpopulated, adapts its urban layout to the different watercourses that criss-cross the territory, resulting in an irregular morphology, completely lacking any hierarchy or centre-periphery gradient. The severity of an increasingly hot and dry climate, together with the loss of its historical function as a commercial hub on the route linking Timbuktu with Tangier, has meant that today, the once splendid and rich oasis of Skoura looks like a ruined mud-brick town, its earth dissolved by time and rain, returning to its original state. Entre las cordilleras del Alto Atlas y el Antiatlas se extiende el valle del río Dades, seco y constantemente batido por el viento, que se estructura física y ambientalmente a partir de las extensiones verdes de palmerales que crecen a lo largo de los cauces de escorrentía. En la confluencia de varios de estos, completamente secos a día de hoy, 28 de abril de 2025, se levanta la población de Skoura. Este extenso asentamiento, ahora relativamente despoblado, adapta su fisionomía urbana al trazado de los diferentes cursos de agua que surcan el territorio, lo que determina una morfología irregular, carente por completo de cualquier jerarquía o gradiente centro-periferia.
