It is located in the German harbour city of Bremerhaven, which was THE premier embarkation point for those life-changing journeys. The museum focuses in particular on the dramatic aspects of crossing the oceans in emigration ships, but also provides plenty of background information, e.g. on reasons and motives for emigration, some of which involves certain "dark" aspects.
