The site is characterised by the absence of an urban structure. Located on the outskirts of the consolidated nucleus of Viveiro, it stands out for lacking a clear order of planning guidelines, conditioning factors and references. The only thing that should be highlighted is the clarity of its distant view from the other side of the estuary, where its horizontal character appears with personality, linked to the sea, like a plinth of the later built disorder, which extends below the mountains. For this reason, the building has been designed to be closed in on itself, with a simple and abstract form, which would create a clear independence from what we do not yet know will be around it. Only its horizontality will accentuate the personality of the place. The skylights will be, with the sunlight and the clouds, the distant reference. El lugar se caracteriza por la ausencia de una estructura urbana. Ubicado en las afueras del núcleo consolidado de Viveiro; resalta por carecer de un orden claro de pautas de ordenación, de condicionantes y de referencias. Lo único que cabría destacar es la claridad de su visión lejana desde el otro lado de la ría, donde aparece con personalidad su carácter de horizontalidad, ligado al mar, como un zócalo del desorden construido posterior, que se extiende debajo de las montañas. Por esto se ha proyectado un edificio cerrado en sí mismo, con una forma simple y abstracta que plantee esa clara independencia con lo que aún no sabemos se situará alrededor. Solamente su horizontalidad acentuará su personalidad del lugar. Los lucernarios serán, con las luces del sol y las nubes, la referencia lejana. The building is a box in which the idea of a repeated whole, an aggregation of modules, a space-types, is basic. Within the rigidity of the imposed modular grid, I wanted to move with a certain freedom. It is a cold and aseptic building; it could be an ambulance.
