Modernity of community life in Angola is closely linked to a type of leisure buildings, evolving an absolutely unique case from the international point of view, as if it were a purely “Angolan” typology. Its symbolic and formal expression in relation to the environment is defined as milestones over landscape. Large buildings intended for a mass audience seeking a monumental scale as a result of thier own structural elements, getting the best way to cover big distances. Su carácter simbólico y expresión formal en relación con el entorno los define como hitos en el paisaje. Edificios de gran tamaño destinados a un público masivo que busca una escala monumental como resultado de los elementos estructurales que tienen su origen, sobre todo, en una visión estrictamente funcional, el mejor modo de cubrir la mayor luz. The Atlantic Theater is located in the center of Luanda. It is a huge auditorium aoutdoors with capacity for 1500 people. From a structural point of view is a covered amphitheater, formally defined by a structure set by triangular-shaped columns rising above the desk and straps holding this large desk. The building is open by two sides and closed back and front: the input stage and the racks are located on the twon levels of the main body. The symmetrical composition of the façade makes up a system of entrance to the upper floor by a very expressive ensemble of ramps ans stairs. The bar, wardrobe and other services are located on the ground floor. Its large size and monumental character associate this space, even nowadays, with an idea of cosmopolitanism typical of a large city. El Cine Atlántico se ubica en pleno centro de Luanda.
