The architectural problem was the construction of a social headquarters for a group of professionals from the University of Cartagena, with a fairly low investment budget. The lot is located in the Crespo neighborhood, with views and direct access to the sea. The lot is quite wooded with typical species of the region, such as coconuts and almond trees. El lote está localizado en el barrio de Crespo, con vista y acceso directo al mar. El lote está bastante arborizado con especies típicas de la region, como cocos y almendros. DESIGN PARAMETERS | DETERMINANTES DEL DISEÑO 1. ECONOMIC PARAMETERS: The budget allocated to construction per square meter was extremely low. This determined the use of very economical materials from the region. 1. INVERSIONES ECONÓMICAS: El presupuesto destinado a la construcción por metros cuadrados, era sumamente bajo. Esto determinó la utilización de materiales muy económicos y dela región. 2. SITE LOCATION: The location of the lot with respect to the sea, the existing trees, the areas of possible use for construction and the location of the project with respect to the breezes, at certain times of the year, significantly influenced the final design of the project . 2. LOCALIZACIÓN DEL LOTE: La localizción del lote con respecto al mar, la arborización existente, las áreas de posible utilización para la construcción y la localización del proyecto con respecto a las brisas, en determinadas épocas del año, influyeron notablemente en el diseño final del proyecto. 3. ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN PROGRAM AND MATERIALS: The project is basically a central services area, developed with different materials than those used in the social areas. The core of services has a concrete structure, brick walls, with rustic panel finishes.
