The Kigali Memorial Centre in the district of Gisozi (hence the name it is most commonly filed under) was opened in 2004 on the 10th anniversary of the genocide and is co-run by the Great Britain -based Aegis Trust (a genocide prevention NGO). In addition to the memorial proper and its exhibitions there's also a documentation centre and an education department. Rwandan schoolchildren are also frequently carted to the centre by the busload to be educated about their country's grim recent history, which is a good thing, of course.
