House in El Paular

Every image and text given by Angel Verdasco The purpose of this project is to build a holiday or weekend two storey-house. The upper floor will only include an office with a toilet and a room for the water supply tanks. The ground floor heights vary between 4.30 and 2.00 m, counted from the level of the interior pavement to the joint between the vault and the perimeter concrete beam. The upper room has an average height of 2.50m. El presente proyecto tiene por objeto la construcción de una casa, de vacaciones y fines de semana, de dos plantas. La planta superior comprenderá solamente un despacho con aseo y un cuarto donde irán emplazados los depósitos para el suministro de agua. Las alturas libres en la planta baja varían entre 4,30 y 2,00 m contadas desde el nivel del pavimento interior hasta la unión da la bóveda con el zuncho de hormigón armado. La habitación superior tiene una altura media de 2,50m. Emplazamiento: El terreno sobre el que se construye la casa, está situado entre los km 32 y 33 la carretera de Navacerrada a Rascafría, en el término municipal de Rascafría, provincia de Madrid. Construction system: The structure of the house consists of a continuous 50 cm thick wall of exposed masonry , laying on a 70 cm thick concrete base. This is the depth needed to reach the resistant soil. At the top of the wall, a reinforced concrete perimeter bram will support the roofing, formed by a continuous vault of different kind of bricks. These vaults will not be coated. The interior layout will be made with simple hollow brick walls, and the staircase will be as the catalan-like way. The pavement, the same for the whole house, will be made with terracotta tiles. In the living room and dining room we will find the masonry walls uncoated, with a 1.50m. high plinth. This plinth will be built up with teracotta tiles as well, as the bathrooms and kitchen will also have.
