Jaffe House (Skybreak House)

One of the most impressive scenes of the movie The Clockwork Orange was filmed in one of the first projects of the Team 4 (the first office of Norman Foster): The rape to Mrs Alexander and the beating to his husband that left him paraplegic. The Jaffe House is conceived in its section based on three parameters: the maximum flexibility for different uses and social occasions, the introduction of natural light, and the possibility to extend the house into the landscape in the future. The house is divided in three stripes: the first one is the main public area of the house (the living room) and the other two are used for the kitchen, bathrooms and bedrooms. Its connection is built through sliding panels, expanding its spatial quality. Una de las imágenes más sorprendentes de la película La Naranja mecánica fue grabada en uno de los primeros proyectos del Team 4 (la primera oficina de Norman Foster). Jaffe House sirvió como escenario para la violación de la señora Alexander y la paliza que dejaría parapléjico a su marido. Jaffe House fue concebida en sección teniendo en cuenta tres parámetros en su diseño: la máxima flexibilidad en su uso, la introducción de luz natural, y la posibilidad de extender la casa en el paisaje en futuras ampliaciones. Jaffe House está dividida en tres franjas: la primera y más grande es ocupada por la sala de estar, mientras que las otras dos alojan la cocina, los baños y los dormitorios. La conexión entre dichas franjas es principalmente a través de paneles deslizantes, lo que expande la cualidad espacial de la vivienda. The Skybreak House is shown as a paradox at The Clockwork Orange. The first time appears on the movie, it represents the success of the marriage living there: the writer and his beautiful wife have a perfect life and the house, based on its amazing interiors, can be considered as a representation of this quality of life and their good taste.
