Le Trigon

This article is part of the series [Sí] , a personal project curated by Marta López García where she wills to shed light on a twice silenced reality. The goal remains to recover and spread pieces of architecture displaced to the periphery; although this time focused on the work of female architects. El objetivo es recuperar y difundir obras de arquitectura que han sido desplazadas a la periferia, teniendo como punto de partida proyectos de mujeres arquitectas. Thought as a short-stay retreat cabin, the swiss architects Heidi and Peter Wenger conceived Le Trigon in 1955. However, far from being their exclusive home, the architects designed it to be standardise, able to adapt to different sites and easily constructed while minimizing the impact on the surroundings. The Wenger´s Trigon is located near Brig, but instead of standing at the bottom of the valley it lays 2000 meters high above sea level unlocking the views of the valley towards the West. Le Trigon fue proyectado por los arquitectos suizos Heidi and Peter Wenger en 1955 como refugio para estancias cortas. Lejos de ser un diseño exclusivo, esta cabaña fue diseñada con la idea de que fuese estandarizable, adaptable a diferentes terrenos, de fácil construcción y mínimo impacto en el medio. Le Trigon está situado cerca de la localidad de Brig, pero a diferencia de ésta no se encuentra en el fondo del valle si no a 2000 metros sobre el nivel del mar, beneficiándose de las vistas hacia el oeste. The building´s shape is intrinsically linked to its construction system. The A-frame used here had become very popular in North America in the post II World War period. Its simplicity resembles a camping tent, where the interior space is delimited mainly by the roof. On plan it is a rectangle with the entrance to one end and the balcony to the other.
