The Center is named after one of the most prominent and most influential Holocaust survivors, who after WWII made a name for himself as a successful “Nazi hunter”. Wiesenthal had started collecting evidence right from the end of the war onwards, after he had been liberated from Mauthausen concentration camp , and worked with the American war crime trials.
