Structural Dyke

Typological comparison of the proposed scheme with the northern dwellings of De Ijzeren Vrouw: small, solitary and transparent structures in the first row as a semi-propulsive membrane; perpendicular bars in the second row, forming inward-bound neighborhoods; the perimeter row of lower units, defining a protection from the traffic (greenhouses).A structure consisting of three patterns – an organizational frame, rather than design. The setting is conceived as a repetitive structure of basic units consisting of :a housing bar / a work groove / a portion of tulips' band / a portion of patio houses. Small-scale / large-scale neighborhoods – diverse transition patterns. Symmetrical layout of the galleries to stress togetherness. Vertical communications are related to their position on the site: elevator as a “digital” means of transport, mediating between the street, upper deck and galleries; descending flights of stairs, heading towards the lake, as an “analogue”, landscape element. Nuestra propuesta para las viviendas del norte de De Ijzeren Vrouw se puede comparar con la tipología edificatoria del lugar: estructuras edificatorias pequeñas, solitarias y transparentes en primera fila como una membrana semi-propulsora, barras perpendiculares en la segunda fila, formando patios que se abren al interior, y una última fila perimetral de unidades menores, que define una protección frente a la estructura de tráfico (invernaderos). Ajustamos estos tres modelos con una configuración repetitiva de unidades básicas que consisten en: una primera estructura de viviendas, una segunda banda de trabajo y una última banda de casas patio. La planta de las viviendas tienen una configuración simétrica para enfatizar la unidad del conjunto.
